Yeovil bounced back to form and strengthened their position near the top of the table with a surprisingly easy victory over their West Country rivals.
Rovers fans who boosted the gate to a Yeovil record of 8726 for a league match, were stunned as the Glovers dominated from start to finish.
Rovers had Graham Hyde sent off after 20 minutes for a second yellow card but by then they were already trailing to a 16th minute goal.
Terry Skiverton saw his shot from the left rebound off the bar to the other side where fellow defender Adam Lockwood was loitering to knock it in.
Though Yeovil continued to press they had to wait until the 43rd minute for their second goal. A fierce drive by Abdou Elkholti was on it's way into the net when it took a big deflection off team-mate Darren Way.
Any hopes of a Rovers recovery were ended four minutes into the second half when Gavin Williams added a third goal and Yeovil could have had several more.
Kevin Gall, who joined them towards the end of last season from Rovers, was right out of luck as he looked for his first goal in 2004. Twice he rattled shots against the keeper's legs.
When the fourth goal finally came, it was from defender Colin Pluck who moved up to head in a perfect cross from substitute Paul Terry.
Rovers threw on new signing Lee Thorpe in the second half but he managed only one shot in stoppage time which was comfortably held by keeper Steve Collis.
Rovers manager Phil Bater said he would spend the weekend considering his position. "I know the players say they want me to stay full time, but if I can't motivate them I have to decide what to do. Yeovil were clearly better all over the park," he said.
Yeovil's Gary Johnson said: "It was an excellent display. We have had a few dodgy results away from home and I now have to make sure that we can produce this sort of form when we play away.
"I was particularly pleased with everyone especially Kirk Jackson who worked hard up front and Steve Collis who had his first game in goal in the League because Chris Weale was injured."
