Bristol Rovers cranked up the pressure on play-off rivals Wycombe Wanderers with a battling win at Adams Park.
The loss was Wycombe's first at home in 12 games, but their barren run in front of goal continued and they now haven't scored in six hours of football.
Meanwhile, the win puts Rovers only four points behind the Chairboys, who are clinging on to the last play-off place.
Rovers were out of the blocks quickest and with real intent and Lewis Haldane hit the side-netting within the first few minutes.
They carried on that urgency and got their reward with an early goal on 16 minutes.
Steve Elliott wasn't picked up at all from a Stuart Campbell corner and he easily headed home.
The home fans were desperate for a response from their side but got nothing as Rovers continued to stroke the ball about comfortably with the lively Haldane causing Wycombe all sorts of problems.
And he should have doubled their lead five minutes before the break when he played a swift one-two with Rickie Lambert and raced one-on-one with Jamie Young but the keeper did well to force him wide and he shot into the side-netting.
Wycombe did finally create something on the stroke of half-time. Tommy Mooney pulled back for strike partner Scott McGleish but from eight yards he couldn't find the target.
There was a slight improvement from Wycombe after the break with half-time substitute Chris Palmer causing Rovers some trouble.
First he forced Steve Phillips to palm wide from a free-kick before tricking and turning himself a yard of space on the edge of the box and blasting a decent shot that the keeper was just equal to.
Rovers then had a chance that should have finished the game. Lambert rose highest from a free-kick to head down to the on-rushing Sam Igoe who hit tamely at Young from all of eight yards.
