Matt double downs Rovers
A second-half double from Jamille Matt helped Fleetwood continue their impressive start to the season with a 3-1 victory at Bristol Rovers.
The striker netted with a near-post flick after 64 minutes and scored his second three minutes from time with an emphatic right-foot finish from Antoni Sarcevic's pass.
Substitute Jon Parkin set the seal on Fleetwood's day with a perfectly-struck injury-time volley from a narrow angle.
Rovers played their part in an exciting second half, equalising after 66 minutes when John-Joe O'Toole headed home at the far post from Andy Bond's left-wing cross.
The home side hit a post through Ryan Brunt's 70th-minute header and could count themselves a shade unfortunate on the balance of play.
A dreadful first half saw Rovers go closest in the third minute when a Ryan Brunt header was palmed to safety by Fleetwood goalkeeper Scott Davies.
Matt headed well wide for the visitors and a dangerous cross from Sarcevic was just in front of the sliding Matty Blair. But both sides struggled to create clear chances.
