Bristol Rovers chief Paul Trollope could not hide his disappointment after seeing a promising performance turn pear-shaped in a 3-0 defeat at Peterborough. George Boyd broke the deadlock in the 57th minute and Aaron Mclean struck at the second attempt with 17 minutes remaining before skipper Grant McCann tucked away a classy free-kick late on. Trollope said: "We knew it would be a tough start against a team that are certain to be right up there this season. "Peterborough have tremendous strikepower and added plenty of quality in the summer, but we were still confident of causing an upset. "I was pretty pleased with many aspects of our performances in the first half. We grew into the game and were in the ascendancy when the half-time whistle came. "We failed to take a couple of very good chances and you can't afford for that to happen if you want to pick up points on the road."
