24-year-old Hoskins is the Pirates' leading marksman this season netting 11 goals since joining from Watford on a free in the summer, including three strikes in his last two matches.
Patterson told the Bristol Evening Post: "There is obviously going to be interest in Will because he has been playing well and he is a talent.
"But his focus will be the same as it was when he first walked through the door here. He wants to do well for the team and will, hopefully, carry on scoring goals.
"I see interest in our players as a positive thing and I would rather have people kicking my door down and my phone to be red hot for all of them, because that would mean we have a decent team."
