"I've had the highs and the lows of chasing promotion and battling against relegation," the 22-year-old told BBC Radio Bristol.
"Hopefully this year we can get to the right end of the table and see what develops," he added.
Daniels, a product of the Manchester United youth scheme, has spent most of his West Brom career with other clubs, making more than 80 appearances for Motherwell, Shrewsbury and Tranmere.
He added: "I've been two-and-a-half years out on loan so I have plenty of games under my belt and it's all been good experience.
"I'm of an age where I need to be playing week in, week out and the manager is giving me that opportunity. Hopefully it will work for both parties."
On Saturday Daniels will face his parent club when they visit Rovers for a pre-season friendly.
"It will be strange being on the receiving end. I hope it goes well because if it doesn't I might be in for a little bit of stick," he said.
