The Pirates, who currently sit third from bottom in League One, have been poor defensively so far this campaign conceding on average almost two goals a game but they have improved in their last two matches securing a 0-0 draw against Hartlepool and a 3-1 win over Swindon.
Daniels, who is on loan from West Brom, told the Bristol Evening Post: "The clean sheet against Hartlepool last week was a good start for us, especially after conceding four goals at Carlisle in our previous game. It gave us something to build on.
"It was important for us to stop the rot for our confidence, especially defensively, because you don't want to keep picking the ball out of the net week-in and week-out."
Rovers next face bottom side Walsall on Saturday and Daniels added: "The Walsall game is a great opportunity for us to get into the pack above the relegation zone and then start climbing the table.
"Going into it on the back of the two games we've just had, I think it offers us a great chance to get a result."
