Rovers responded to the sacking of manager Dave Penney on Monday by picking up only their third win in 22 attempts thanks to a 19th minute winner from Chris Lines.
Campbell said: "I am very proud. I asked for commitment and got it. We were absolutely outstanding and could have had four or five goals.
"But we cannot get carried away. We must take it one game at a time. It was a great performance and I`m sure we will have a bumper crowd on Saturday.
"Certainly the better side won. We created plenty of chances but our back four and goalkeeper defended for their lives and were absolutely outstanding.
"My head has been in a bit of a spin since my appointment. I was just pleased to get to the ground and get my first game in charge out of the way. The only disappointment was that I picked up a stupid booking for dissent."
