32-year-old Hyde has been frozen out of the first team picture at Birmingham, and has spent most of this season on loan at second division Peterbrough.

He joins Rovers to add vital experience to Ray Graydon's side, and give himself more security.

"He'll be a valuable addition to our squad," said Graydon today, "Graham will add competition for places and bring in some experience to a relatively young squad."

Hyde had over 200 first team appearances under his belt with Sheffield Wednesday before making the switch to St Andrews, but has only featured in 35 games for Birmingham in his three year period in the midlands.

It is not all good news though for Rovers, with news that on-loan defender Chris Plummer will be out for three weeks with a groin injury,

Plummer is on loan at Rovers from second division QPR, and may have to return to Loftus Road for treatment.

He joins Danny Boxall and Anwar Uddin, both of whom are sidelined through injury.
